What a beautiful quality engraved bangle. Crafted from Sterling Silver, this bangle was made in 1963 by Joseph Smith & Sons Ltd in Birmingham. It is an oval shaped hinged bangle which makes it both comfortable (as the oval shape fits the wrist nicely) and easy to put on and take off. It has the added benefit of a safety chain to prevent it opening completely if the latch was accidentally pressed.

What makes this bangle so special is the lovely foliate engraving. The stems, leaves and flowers have been engraved and the extra patterning helps provide depth. Paired with that simple rope edging, it is the perfect for any season.

HALLMARKS: 'J.S.' in shield for Joseph Smith & Sons Ltd; ⚓︎ for Birmingham; 'Lion Passant' for Sterling Silver and the 'O' letter determined to be 1963.

CONDITION

Very Good - The bangle displays only very slight wear given its age. The hinge works beautifully and there is no 'twist' to the bangle when open. The latch slips into place straight on and closes nicely and the safety chain is intact and not worn.
