This lovely pendant is hand crafted from Sterling Silver and features a stunning bezel set 11mm x 5mm marquise-cut garnet. Surrounding this marvellous garnet is a filigree style carved motif that goes all the way around and has been antiqued to add a vintage charm. To finish it off, a row of hearts bail is used to attach it to the included Sterling Silver 42cm snake chain.

The garnet itself is a gorgeous mid toned red which gives it an earthier feel then the bright red of say a rhodolite garnet.

I love the handmade aspects of this necklace - you can see that the bezel has been set by hand and the lovely carved motif. I also love the antiquing of the sterling silver, this is a deliberate process which blackens the silver and I think it works beautifully here because if it was fully polished, it wouldn't have the same feel.

MEASUREMENTS: The garnet measures 11mm x 5mm and is marquise cut. The bezel height is 4mm.
The pendant width is 13.6mm and 24.9mm high (not including the bail) and 5.1mm in depth.
The bail is 9.3mm high, 6.3mm wide and 7.6mm in depth (at the widest points)
The included sterling silver snake chain is 42cm in length and 1.17mm thick with a 'lobster claw' clasp.

WEIGHT: Total weight - 5.97g comprising of pendant weight of 2.53g and chain weight of 3.44g

HALLMARKS: '925' for Sterling Silver

CONDITION

Good - The garnet is very secure in the setting. It is in good condition with a few tiny chips and abrasions viewable only under a 10x jewellers loupe. A few minor scratches to the back of the pendant consistent with age. The chain is solid with no evidence of repairs.
