What a fantastic piece of jewellery! Made in Sterling Silver and featuring a viking style design with fine detailing, this pendant was made in Finland by the silver manufacturer Kaunis Koru. The hallmarks date the piece to 1975. The level of detail in this pendant is amazing, from the grain on the outside, the rams heads and the oxidised finish, it is of excellent craftsmanship. 

There is no official name for the design but we have a photo of a catalogue of the time which gives the design name as "Länsi-Suomesta viikinkiajalta" (which we roughly translate to being 'from the Western Finland Viking Age'). 

This makes for an amazing unique piece of jewellery. The bail allows a thick chain to be used creating a very striking, masculine style pendant. It is also perfect for the collector of viking style pieces or Finnish made jewellery.

MEASUREMENTS: The pendant measures 50.18mm wide, 56.6mm high (including the bail) and an approximate depth of 9.5mm. The bail itself is 6.1mm wide, 6.8mm high and 6.3mm in depth. The interior diameter of the bail is approximately 3.8mm

WEIGHT: 16.18g

HALLMARKS: 'Made in Finland' for Country of Manufacture; 'Back to Back K in box' for Kaunis Koru; '♥︎' for Finland's National Control Mark; '925' for Sterling Silver and 'X7' as the date code for 1975

CONDITION

Excellent. The pendant shows some very minor wear on the top circle of the centre design however this is consistent with age. There are some minor scuff marks and faint scratches to the rear however these are again consistent with age. A piece that is still in excellent vintage condition.
